        Chess Championship

Time:           9:00-9:30 a.m. check-in and late registration

Rounds:        4 rounds; 1st round starts at 10:00 a.m. Each round lasts about an hour. Rounds are played back to back.

Sections:      K-3, 4-5, 6-8 and 9-12 individual and team. Top 4 scores of players from the same school will count as team score. Only schools from Calcasieu, Cameron, Allen, Beauregard and Jeff Davis Parishes are eligible to win team prizes. Others may win individual prizes.

Awards:        Perfect score individual winners will receive $50 cash prize. Trophies awarded to top 10 individuals and top 3 teams in each section. USCF-recommended computer tie-breaks will decide trophy placements. Playoffs will determine trophy placements for individuals tied with perfect scores. Awards ceremony estimated time 3:00 p.m.

Entry Fee:    $20 pre-registration         

                   $25 after March 10^th and on-site registration

                   Pre-registration must be received by March 10, 2008
